NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore Casey Gaynor (Toms River, N.J.) struck out eight and gave up just three hits in eight innings and Rutgers got hits from eight of its nine batters as the Scarlet Knights cruised to a 7-1, season-opening victory over No. 25 Old Dominion in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Bud Metheny Baseball Complex. Game two will begin at 3:05 p.m.
