Carlos Delgado set a New York Mets record with nine RBIs in the opener of Friday's two-ballpark doubleheader against the New York Yankees.
Delgado had nine RBIs in a four-inning span at Yankee Stadium.
He hit a two-run double in the fifth off Edwar Ramirez, then hit his 12th career grand slam in the sixth, a drive against Ross Ohlendorf. Delgado added a three-run homer in the eighth off LaTroy Hawkins, his 13th home run of the season.
